He is born in Dargeçit (Kerboran)
district of Mardin in 1954. After his secondary school education
he starts to have interest in Church doctrine, so he learns to read and
write Syriac. He commits himself to Mor Gabriel Monastery to increase
his knowledge more. He gets into a very strict work tempo and in
a very short time he success to catch the attention of people around him,
and earns their love. Mor Filiksinos, who expands his experience
by concentrating his works mostly on religious topics, promotes to the
rank of Monk "Şarvoyo" in 1971. He serves a while by this
title in the fields of training and teaching. In 1977 he was consecrated
with the title of "spiritual". As a result of his dayly
increasing work graphic he was summond to Damascus by the General Patriarch
of Syrian Orthodox Church Moran Mor Ignatius I. Zekka Ayvaz in 1983. Mor
Filiksinos visiting Saint Mor Efrem Theological School in that city, next
to his thee years of theological education he also attends Syriac and
Arabic classes. Being graduated from that School with success he
receives degrees on all this subjects. Soon after that he becomes
principle of the theological School he visited.
Upon the request of Syrian
Committee of Istanbul he was sanctified as an Archbishop by Patriarch
Moran Mor Ignatius I. Zekka Ayvaz on September 28th 1986, and he was assigned
to Istanbul with the title of Deputy of Patriarch Mor Filiksinos Yusuf
Çetin.
During the stay of Mor
Filiksinos in Damascus his poets addressed to the Church fathers, to theological
School where he studied, and to the Patriarch Excellency were printed
from time to time in the Patriarch’s periodicals. Beside these he
also made a translation of "Biographies of Saints" from Syriac
into Turkish.

Samuel
Akdemir, the son of Ibrahim and Hana, was born in a village called
Zaz of Midyat district, province of Mardin. He completed his
secondary school education in Midyat; his Syriac and Christian education
also in the village Aynvert.
He was appointed
first as Koruyo then as Afudyakno by the Archbishop of Turabdin
Mor Timoteus Tuma in 1940. In 1950 he was assigned to Deyrulzafaran
monastery as a teacher by the Archbishop of Mardin Mor Filiksinos
Yuhanon Dolabani.
He has been sanctified
as a Biblical Deacon in January 8th 1951 by the same Archbishop
, and in 1956 as a Priest of Mardin Mor Petrus and Mor Pavlus Church.
In the same year he has been sent to Musul Theological School
for a year to increase his knowledge to a higher level and especially
to strengthen his Arabic.
Samuel Akdemir serving
about twelve years in Mardin, came to Istanbul in 1963 by the request
of Syrian Orthodox Congregation. In 1976 he was promoted to
the office of Horiepiskopos by the Archbishop of Aleppo Mor Diyonosiyos
Circis and by the Archbishop of Beirut Mor Atanasiyos Efrem.
Horiepiscopos Samuel
Akdemir was assigned to Deputy Patriarch by the Holy Patriarch Moran
Mor Ignatius III. Yakup in 1977. Akdemir being spiritual leader
until 1986, has important and useful services in Istanbul Archdiocese.
Beside his work
"Our Religious Rules", which was written in Turkish and
printed in 1972, Horiepiskopes Samuel Akdemir translated
the books called Spiritual Treasure and Teodora from Arabic into
Turkish in 1989 and 1993.

Savme
Akyön, the son of Priest Gabriel and Barthkyomo Mire of Aynvert,
was born in April 10th, 1924 in the village Kanak. He has
completed his secondary school in Midyat, and Syriac and Arabic
education in the village Aynvert.
He became Biblical Deakon
in May 15th, 1953. In the same year he was assigned as a Priest
for the village Aynvert by the Episkopes of Turabdin Mor Iyavennis
Efrem Bilgiç. He undertook very important service during this
twenty five years of his Priesthood.
Savme Akyön came
to Istanbul in 1978, and he is still serving in Syrian Orthodox
Church of Istanbul.

Esmer BİLGE

Esmer
Bilge, the son of Isa and Zero, has been born in January 1st,
1933 in a village called Bote. He earned his secondary School
degree by exams given from outside. He received his Syriac
language education by the Episcopes of Turabdin Mor Iyavannis
Efrem Bilgiç. He was consecrated as Biblical Deakon at Mor
Gabriel Monastery in1962, and in May at the same year as
a Priest to the village Bote where he was born.
He served in Bote
eighteen years as a Priest and four years as a teacher. Due
to the immigration of congregation he came to Istanbul in 1980.
At present priest Esmer Bilge is serving in Istanbul Syrian
Orthodox Church.

Yusuf GÜLÇE

Yusuf
Gülçe, son of Gabriel Gülçe and Barthkyomo Seyde of Midyat, was
born in April 20th, 1929 in Midyat. After finishing his secondary
School, he learned Syriac and Arabic at home through his father
and his brother Horiepiskopes Melke.
He was consecrated
as Koruyo by the Archbishop of Turabdin Mor Timoteus Tuma in 1943,
and as Afudyakno in 1946. In 1959 he became Biblical Deakon
by the Episkopes of Turabdin Mor Iyavannis Efrem Bilgiç. After
four years, in August 11th, 1963 he was promoted to the office of
Priest by the Archbishop of Mardin Mor Filiksinos Yuhanon Dolabani.
After serving four years in Adıyaman and eight years in Elazığ
he came to Istanbul in 1975. Since then he is serving in Syrian
Orthodox Church of Istanbul.

is ready for print.

Aykurt, son of Priest Isa and Barthkyomo Seyde, was born in the

to Meryem Ana Church of Diyarbakır as a teacher by the Archbishop
of Turabdin Mor Filiksinos Ilyas Çankaya He was consecrated
as Biblical Deakon in Mor Gabriel Monastery by the Archbishop of
Turabdin Mor Timoteus Samuel Aktaş, and again by the same Archbishop
as a Priest for Meryem Ana Church of Diyarbakır in March 10th, 1985.
Upon the request
of Syrian congregation in Istanbul he came to Istanbul in August
8th, 1993, and he is still serving at Syrian Orthodox Church of
Istanbul.

Melki AKYÜZ

Melki
Akyüz, son of Lahdo and Hazno, was born in the village Bakısyan
in April 4th, 1970. He has completed his secondary education
in Gündükşükro. He went to Mor Gabriel Monastery to improve
his Syriac and Arabic language. On the other hand, during
this stay he completed his second part of secondary education. After
this he came to Mardin and completed his high school in this city.
He came to Istanbul
upon the invitation of Syrian Orthodox Church in Istanbul. He
was consecrated as a Priest by the Holy Patriarch Mor Ignatius I.
Zekka Ayvaz in February 24th, 1993. He is still serving at
Syrian Orthodox Church in Istanbul.
Besides his duty
as a Priest, Melki Akyüz is continuing his studies for BA degree
in Public Relations at Anadolu University, Faculty of Distance Learning.
